Grinding

I couldnt go to sleep last night because I was watching my recordings of Entourage and WSOP 07. The WSOP had a shortstacked Phil Hellmuth making funny laydowns and talking shit the whole time, it was pretty entertaining. I woke up today around 12:30 pm and immediately logged on to pokerstars for a session.

I always 4-table so its hard for me to play a ton of hands in a short period of time. I played for about 2 hours and15 minutes and logged 765 hands. I had a decent result of +$40 on the session but It was a really boring and I only played like 2 noteworthy hands.

This is the first http://www.pokerhand.org/?1347654

Villian here was running 43/22 so I knew he was capable of a loose preflop raise and loose 3-bet call. Honestly when he snap called my flop c-bet and I put him on the jack or weak pair but with the turn being a jack also I began to be suspicious. I decided betting the turn made no sense and checking was best. At this point I though he either had the jack, 66-99, or like AK, AQ. After calling his turn bet and a 3h coming on the river i checked and he shoved for $39. I really sat for a while and thought of folding..... but then really examined his paHUD stats. His aggresion factor by street showed that this player tries to steal alot of pots on the turn.

Flop AF - 1.67 Turn AF - 4.5 Riv AF - 2.5

folding river really makes my turn play make no sense. If I had the best of it on the turn the 3h doesnt scare me at all. Then I buckled down and called because of the high propability he was trying to steal on turn and rived was a desperation push. I was right and I think I played this hand pretty well against this particular opponent. Now if my opponent was a 18/15 TAG or whatever I think I would have probably had to get away from this hand.

This is the other notable hand that I think I played poorly. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1347684

I though his lead for $8 did not mean the 10. I really thought that this was 44-99 or JJ. The other opponent was so short that I wasnt really worried about his call. I tried to isolate the shorty but it backfired when the villian who lead for $8 snap called my shove. Looking back on it I think I should have either smooth called or folded. I raised 5xbb pre-flop so his call/lead was real fishy. I like calling on the flop because I think most of the time he would have bet again w/ the T and slowed down with 44-99 so I would have had a much better idea of what he was holding. Im gonna take a break for a few hours and try to play about 750 more hands later tonight.
